Among the cereals, Barley is medium in energy and protein. It’s use as a feed grain in poultry is widespread and mostly blended with heavier high energy grains such as wheat and maize. Barley is a hard grain, as a poultry feed its efficiency can be improved when crushed, this will make its energy and protein more easily digested especially in the young or small poultry birds.
