Sulphate of Iron is a by-product of the steel plating or coating industry it is most commonly used not as a fertiliser but for controlling moss in turf grass lawns.
    Moss Control:
There can be a number of reasons for having large areas of moss in a lawn here is a list of the most common reasons below:

Too dry due to compaction or drought prone areas
Too much thatch normally a case of poor lawn maintenance
Soil fertility is to low due to poor lawn maintenance
Although moss can be controlled using Sulphate of Iron the truth is it will return unless the overriding reason for it being in the lawn is rectified.

Moss will quickly turn black leave for 2 to 3 weeks then remove the dead moss by raking or scarifying
Re-seed the bare patches with appropriate lawn seed and fertiliser.
Application Rates: Apply approx. 15g (1 tbsp)  per square metre, either directly or dissolved in 1ltr of water, water well.
