Product Overview
KIKUYU COASTAL LAWN
Kikuyu is a vigorous growing grass with a strong creeping habit that can produce an extremely durable, hard wearing lawn that can tolerate drought prone coastal situations. Kikuyu produces rapid green growth over the summer months, once ground temperatures exceed approximately 16°C it must be mown regularly at a height of approximately 20mm otherwise it will develop a thick spongy thatch that is difficult to manage. Kikuyu is summer active and will turn light yellow or go completely dormant during cooler months. It does not like either wet or shady environments and its ability to regenerate from dormancy will depend on the severity of cold and frost it is subjected to.
