Description
Phacelia is a hardy annual mostly grown for its bright blue flowers that are irresistible to bees and other beneficial insects, this feature makes phacelia a great companion plant. Phacelia has a deep root system and good phosphate scavenger, so used as a green manure crop Phacelia drags phosphate from deep down the soil profile making it available for following crops.
Sow in spring as a sanctuary for predator insects to reside or sow later as a quick growing manure crop.
Sow from September through to April.
